Pirscher Gear Polar 2.0 winter jacket – our shield against the cold

We have developed the Pirscher Gear Polar 2.0 winter jacket as a functional shield against the cold for winter hunting from a hide. We have built on the tried-and-tested concept of the previous generation and refined it specifically: the jacket protects against freezing temperatures, wind, rain and snow, and is now even quieter when moving.

To achieve this, we have revised the outer fabric and membrane construction. The outer fabric and the ADDVENTEX membrane are now firmly bonded together. Combined with the improved outer fabric, this construction reduces movement noise even further. At the same time, moisture is much less visible on the outer fabric.

Extra-warm hunting jacket with double protection against the cold

Beneath the membrane, the 140 g/m² Feather Touch padding acts as an insulating cold barrier across the torso. The sleeves feature a slightly lighter 120 g/m² padded to ensure freedom of movement is not restricted.

Keeping the torso warm is particularly important during long winter hunts from a hide. That is why we have also fitted the jacket with a heat-reflective thermal coating in this area. It reflects some of the body heat emitted, thereby helping to retain warmth. The coating is applied as a fine dot pattern to ensure breathability is maintained.

This ensures exactly the same dual protection against the cold – provided by the padding and thermal coating – that characterises the Pirscher Gear Polar Series.

Wind- and waterproof winter jacket for hunting and stalking

For reliable protection against cold wind and wet conditions, we continue to rely on the ADDVENTEX 10.10 membrane with a water column rating of 10,000 mm and a breathability rating of 10,000 g/m²/24h. Taped seams provide additional protection against moisture penetration. The PFC-free BIONIC FINISH ECO water-repellent treatment makes the outer fabric water- and dirt-repellent.

The extended back offers additional protection against the cold when sitting. The waist and hem can be individually adjusted to keep out cold draughts. Wind-proof cuffs with ‘ thumb loops’ seal the sleeves at the inside. From the shoulders down to the elbows, the hunting jacket is also ‘ reinforced’.

When sitting in a hide in winter, zips, pockets and hood must be easy to operate even with cold fingers. The two-way front zip can be opened from the top and the bottom. The front flap over the top protects against wind and wet weather and fastens with silent magnetic closures on the Pirscher Gear Polar 2.0 winter jacket.

The detachable hood is adjustable in two ways and features a small visor that keeps rain and snow off the face. During the design process, we took care to ensure that the field of vision is restricted as little as possible whilst hunting.

The Pirscher Gear Polar 2.0 winter jacket is equipped with a total of 10 pockets. Particularly practical on long, cold hunting are the two high-set Napoleon pockets with soft fleece lining: they provide a warm place for your hands and allow for a comfortable waiting position.

In addition, there are two chest pockets with waterproof zips, two large front pockets with silent magnetic fastenings, two open slip pockets and two zipped inside pockets. This ensures that all the hunting kit required for a hunting has a secure place.
