PARD Phoenix 4K 2.0 Rifle Scope

The PARD Phoenix 4K 2.0 rifle scope is the first digital rifle scope to be legally equivalent to a conventional daytime rifle scope – and can be upgraded to a fully-fledged night-vision rifle scope via a software update should the legal situation change.

The PARD Phoenix 4K 2.0 rifle scope breaks new ground as a digital rifle scope: Assessed by the Federal Criminal Police Office and thoroughly examined by the VDB’s legal counsel, it is legally equivalent to a daytime rifle scope. No grey areas, no additional hurdles under firearms legislation – the Phoenix can be used just like a traditional scope.

The housing, made from high-quality aluminium alloy, has a matt, textured finish – comfortable to hold, even in wet and cold conditions. Weighing 905 g including the battery, the rifle scope remains compact enough for everyday use on a stalking rifle. Its IP67 protection rating makes it water proof, whilst its 6000 J recoil resistance ensures long-lasting durability even on high-calibre rifles. Operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +55 °C cover every hunting day.

The round IPS display, with a resolution of 1280 x 1280 pixels, is deliberately adapted to the natural shape of the human eye. The result is a field of view that feels familiar – without the typical ‘rectangular window’ sensation found on many digital devices. The reticle remains fully centred at all times. The 4K sensor delivers a smooth, sharp image at 60 Hz; the 4.6x optical zoom can be digitally extended by up to 4x. The side focus, ergonomically positioned on the tube, enables quick refocusing – whether used freehand or mounted on a Picatinny rail, and can be operated easily even whilst wearing thick gloves.

Particularly useful for practical hunting: the 1,000-metre laser rangefinder provides the target distance in real time, whilst the integrated ballistics calculator uses this data – taking muzzle velocity and bullet weight into account – to calculate the optimal hold-over correction. The picture-in-picture mode displays a 2x magnified reticle area at the top of the screen for faster target identification. The Phoenix can be connected to a smartphone via the built-in Wi-Fi – it can be used as an external viewfinder or for image transmission.

The detachable IR module makes the system future-proof and flexible: depending on the application, it can be fitted or removed in a matter of seconds, saving weight. Should the legal situation change, a software update is all that is needed to transform the Phoenix into a fully-fledged night-vision rifle scope.
