The GPO Spectra 6x 2-12x50i rifle scope with rail is a versatile all-round scope for stalking and ‘ hunting’ in woodland and open country. The 2x to 12x magnification offers a good overview at close range whilst providing sufficient reserve for accurate aiming and shooting at longer distances. With its magnification range of 2x to 12x, the GPO Spectra 6x 2-12x50i rifle scope covers a wide range of hunting applications. At 2x magnification, the field of view at 100 m is 21 m, providing a sufficient overview for short and medium ranges. This means the scope can also be used for quick shots at moving game when required. Its strength, however, lies in its versatility: it offers suitable magnifications for stalking and ‘ hunting’ (hunting from a blind) as well as for precise aiming and shooting at longer ranges. At 12x magnification, the field of view is 3.5 m at 100 m.

The 50 mm objective lens, with 90 per cent light transmission, provides ample light reserves for the ‘ hunting’ right into twilight. The HD lens system ensures clear image reproduction with high resolution, natural colour rendering and good sharpness right to the edge of the image. The rifle scope thus combines good twilight performance with a comparatively compact design.

The G4i Fiber reticle is located in the second image plane and features a particularly fine illuminated dot. The iControl illumination control system also manages the battery. The illumination switches off automatically after 3 hours. Position and angle sensors detect the position of the rifle and deactivate the illuminated dot either immediately or after a short delay, depending on the rifle’s position. When the rifle is returned to the normal firing position, the illumination switches back on automatically. A battery warning is issued when 15 per cent of the battery capacity remains.

After sighting in, the adjustment turrets can be reset to zero without the need for tools. The rail version also features an integrated zero stop, which allows the adjustment to be quickly returned to the specified zero position. For shooting at varying or greater distances, this model can also be retrofitted with the optionally available GPO GBT ballistics turret.

The integrated VM/ZM rail enables secure and repeatable mounting on the firearm. The generous eye relief of 97 mm and the exit pupil of up to 9.5 mm ensure a comfortable viewing experience. The magnification can also be quickly adjusted to suit the hunting situation using the removable throw lever on the magnification ring.
